Someone wanted to be able to put a derived class into a boost::any and use any_cast to get a base class pointer out. Enclosed is a patch to do it, FWIW. Disclaimer: I have no opinion on whether this should be done or not. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting www.boost-consulting.com
