 It seems I was still getting the same behavior on Linux. I fixed it by
 adding in the dup of both stderr and stdout.

 I found some :-) And fixed them. I need to make a few more changes for the
 memory allocation. And then we need to figure out how to do the Windows
 side (yuck).
