I have no problem with the 2nd Boost.Python patch. The first one
essentially rips out a mechanism that we had to have on AIX to get things
to work (because of its different linking model) and spent a great deal of
time developing. I'm a little reluctant to apply that patch without
having ''any'' explanation of why the mechanism is no longer needed. It's
always possible they adjusted some flags in the toolset; if so I'm OK with
it. However, if we're going to rip that thing out, we should also remove
the aix_init_module.cpp source file from CVS and from Boost.Python's
Jamfile.
Two further notes:
1. "It also adds a bunch of the latest option supported by the V8
compiler" probably implies we're breaking compatibility with earlier
versions of this compiler.
2. This is an awfully large patchset to apply for a point release :)
