 ... and reports as broken (see http://tinyurl.com/2xrw5n) unless you
 respond interactively to the prompt and allow test_update.exe to run.

 NB: The test requires /EHa under msvc to avoid memory leaks (see
 http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/1deeycx5(VS.90).aspx) but there
 seems to be no way of setting that.
