 This is very interesting. I'm impressed with your understanding of the
 implementation of the library. I would be curious to see some tests which
 show how much time is consumed in the "smart_cast" and how much
 improvement is obtained. I'm also curious as to how common/popular the
 polymorphic archive actually is.

 I'm still digesting this for now.
