New description:

 {{{
 There appears to be an industry-wide need for a good,
 portable stdint.h library, compatible with the C99
 standard. boost.org has the knowledge to create such a
 header, based on their current stdint.hpp header and
 associated code. However, what is needed is a
 C-compatible version that could be used in any environment.

 boost.org would be doing developers a big favor if it
 could adapt its existing stdint.hpp header to a
 C-compatible C99 compliant stdint.h header.
 }}}

Comment:

 I'm going to close this down for two reasons:

 * We don't support C.
 * Many platforms now ship with pretty good stdint.h implementations
 anyway.

 John Maddock.
