 My company uses winsdk 6.1.6000 which basically has the same compiler
 version as a regular vc8.0 release.  I had to modify the build system
 slightly to get it to work.  This is a change I did awhile back to 1.34.1,
 and looking at the patch it is not clear if it can be applied directly or
 not (or even that it was a single patch).  Sorry for this, but it's a
 starting point.
