 What I remember is that when gcc headers define _REENTRANT (or something
 else) unconditionally, as opposed to only with threading=multi/-pthread,
 then BOOST_HAS_THREADS gets set. And IIRC, this was deemed to be a gcc
 bug/feature. So, yes, more information is needed here.
