 Using GCC >= 2.5, it is possible to specify __attribute__((noreturn)),
 which circumvents the "function may be a candidate for noreturn" warning.

 Unfortunately, I don't know how to check against 2.5 specifically using
 your methods, to the check is for GNUC >= 3.
