#4279: boost value_initialized and memset
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
  Reporter: anonymous | Owner: no-maintainer
      Type: Feature Requests | Status: closed
 Milestone: Boost 1.43.0 | Component: utility
   Version: Boost 1.44.0 | Severity: Optimization
Resolution: wontfix | Keywords: value_initialized
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
Changes (by steven_watanabe):

  * status: new => closed
  * resolution: => wontfix

Comment:

 Why do you need to /guarantee/ that memset won't be called? The only
 reason for calling memset is to work around compiler bugs. I see no
 reason for a class to silently do the wrong thing instead of taking a
 minor performance penalty.
