OK, I'm now going to look at this more carefully.
I do think there is a little more to this that meets the eye. The problem
started when I made a simple tweak in 1.42 to eliminate a warning. It
wasn't really correct and the issue was very muddled because the concept
of "version" was applied to library version and data type version which
are quite different things. There were a few other problems besides.
Your observations and effort ARE appreciated so don't give up hope. I'm
looking at this
