With your "test.mm" (tested using gcc 4.0, 4.2, 4.4 on Mac OS X 10.5),

warnings ("warning: ignoring #pragma pop_macro", "warning: ignoring
#pragma pop_macro") and
errors ("error: #error Protocol is defined", "error: #error id is
defined") are emitted. [[BR]]
As a side note, this only happens on the trunk and NOT on the Boost 1.44.
