 The problem is that nil is part of the API and can break existing code
 that uses it. If I change it to nil_t then there will potentially be
 breakage. A better patch is to limit the effects to the Mac using #ifdefs.
 I'll gladly apply such a patch if you can prepare one.

 Also, please provide a standard patch file. I can't process your
 FolderComparisonReport_files.
