If your child is a sophomore or junior, you're probably just starting to
discover everything that is needed for university or college applications.
Of course, exams are a major part of the system and many scholars need
some kind of SAT or ACT prep these days. Finding out what they require is
the first step in getting ready the SAT. The second step is taking a mock
SAT or ACT Test. An SAT rehearsal examination, like those given this month
at Lindero Learning Center in Westlake Village, can help students discover
how much, if any, SAT/ACT examination prep is needed.

When to provide test preparation is as important as what prep should be
conducted. The traditional period for preparation is for Juniors to take a
PSAT in Oct, get scores back in Dec, then take the real SAT early in the
year (Mar, Apr, or May, for instance). However, that timetable may not be
the ideal one for students. There are numerous things to consider that may
result in a break from that tradition.

Your own student school and extra-curriclar schedule should permit the
time needed for ample test prep. Sports seasons, school plays, or other
school activities take up the time that must be given to test prep and may
justify shifting the testing dates to fit your established timetable.

Students should have acquired the appropriate skills after their 2nd year
of highschool. If their are no conflicts with the student's load and test
tutoring, then taking it along with the rest of their class during the
standard time is advisable. The junior year of senior high school
continues to maturing the vocabulary, reading and writing and mathematics
skills required. Test preparation needs to fit the timetable of the
student and the junior year is the time to improve these abilities via
 tutoring programs.
