 Hi, sorry, this problem was an ABI incompatibility; the properly built
 library wasn't getting picked up.  When both application and boost are
 compiled with the same stdlib there are no issues.

 Interestingly, the only problem encountered in the larger case, with the
 mixed library use, was on thread join (not saying others don't exist).
