 no idea - boost/tools/build/src/tools/link.jam is part of the boost.build
 system and I'm not an expert of boost.build.
 maybe you should add an bug for boost.build?

 unfortunately I've no PPC64 system and boost does not have PPC64
 regression tests for this platform.
