#9959: boost::date_time::date addition/subtraction assignment operators

 Is there a reason why the += and -= operators of boost::date_time::date
 return a copy instead of a reference to the current object? Usually I
 would always expect a reference to be returned for any implementation of
 these operators.

 Thank you for your answers.
