I once did a diagram for MSVC and its assorted tools for the relations between the various source files (cpp, h, rc, ...), intermediate files (obj, sbr, pch, res, ...) and target files (exe, dll, lib, bsc, ...). Would this be an interesting use case? If yes, I can convert it into a nice ascii drawing an post it here.
