I am not really using it, rather I am playing with it. I have
another build procedure to do real builds. However I would love to
switch to boost.build at some point to improve portability.
I realize that v2 is an ongoing development and I am aware of
possible bugs.
Was it a bug though, or did I do something wrong? I am just making
my first steps in v2.

Boost.build v1 does not work for me because the project consists of
dozen of libraries, and I have to link some libraries to others. It
is not supported in v1, is it?
I do use v1 for another project, and I like it a lot.
