In V1 --- I don't know any way, unfortunately.
In V2 --- sure, I do that all the time:

stage a : lib1 lib2 : <location>/tmp/dir ;

I'm not sure this answer helps to solve your immediate problem, but at least 
you know it will be solved in future ;-)
