Rene, I think that currently we've got two problems with modifiers. First is
that you haven't yet pushed that idea far enough. In fact, even 'stage.jam'
does not use modifiers. One related thing is that I don't fully understand
their role in the overall scheme.
Second problem is that with all the redesign which takes place I'm not sure if
current version of modifiers will work in future :-(
