There used to be pre-Pro versions. I started with pre-Pro 9 almost a decade
ago! CW Pro 1 was what would have been CW pre-Pro 12. I think the Pro
series added multi- and cross-platform support (Mac, Windows, Java),
although that premise has changed (they're now purchased separately with
potential grouping discounts).
