There seem to be some unexpected problems with this compiler. When 
linking it cannot find certain libraries:

LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'msvcprtd.lib'

It appears that this can be solved by adding some directories to 
vcvars32.bat, but I still need to try that.
