OK that's the problem.. it should be:

-L"/home/michael/sde/STLport-5.0-0125/lib"

Don't what's causing it though :-(

Damn outdated documentation... Try, instead of the STLPORT_* vars you 
set, setting:

STLPORT_PATH=/home/micheal/sde
STLPORT_VERSION=5.0-0125

And only those, don't set the *LIB* and *INCLUDE* vars.
