Checking directory existence

Hi,

I follow the advise of Dave Abrahams, so I post my question here.

That is my problem: we have some developpers, and they don't have the 
same view of files. I want to have a single built system.
Developpers projects have dependencies with other projects.
What I want his for exemple when a project needs a particular library 
(ex:lib1 from project lib1) I just have to put in the Jamfile of the 
project the lib1//lib1 dependence.

In the project root directory file, I define the lib1 project. But the 
path to this project depends on the fact that the sources are on the 
developpers computer, if not I will use a common path.
