This fix seems to have broken Win32.
After updating to current CVS I get

(full error backtrace attached).

I peeked into the code and found some "globbing" going on there which 
obviously does not work anymore...

I'll try and see if I can get the test suite running on my win32 
machine. Maybe I can deliver more information then...
