Hi Rene,
can you clarify what this change is about? I don't quite get it from the diff.

BTW, for some time I tried, before implementing any non-bufgix change, to 
describe what I'm doing in a text file and put it in the "notes" directory. I 
found that it helps me to design things better and does not take very little 
time (after all, those are internal notes, not documentation). But since I 
was almost the only person hacking on V2, most of those notes are not 
committed yet. If V2 becomes more collaborative project again (which I really 
hope), this approach might be worth trying.
