And I just installed MinGW-3.1.0.

Oops that should be "set BOOST_JAM_TOOLSET_ROOT=C:\MinGW\" - Note the 
"\" at the end.

> cd boost-root/tools/build/jam_src

And I tried it and builds just fine, at least the version in CVS.

So Andrew, what specifically are you having problems with? What errors 
do you get? What commands are you using? Which shell are you using? 
Which version of MinGW? Which version of Boost? etc.
