I will try to post my findings. One of my first observations was that
bison does not run as expected, but this might be due to my installation.
I'll look into this.

Not personally. boost.build v1 did not use bison, correct?
So what will users say when boost switches to v2 and bison being a base
requirement? I always thought one of the features of boost was to be
mostly tools agnostic, true?
