I just did:

   1) cvs update -Pd -r RC_1_34_0 in <boost-root>/boost
      (i.e. the directory where bin.v2 is created by a bjam executions)
   2) ./build.sh in <boost-root>/boost/tools/jam/src
   3) Added <boost-root>/boost/tools/jam/src/bin.linuxx86 to my $PATH

However, I'm still getting the same error about Jamfile.v2:406.

Could someone suggest a correction?
