That's too windy logic for me. I'll take it as "it's not confirmed that 64-bit msvc works".

Ok, somebody commented, unfortunately anonymously, on #1042, saying
that right spelling is x86_ipf, contrary to what msvc docs and your email
claim. In light of which, I've checked in the attached and closed #1042.
