Hi Boris,
here is a short feedback:
I have applied the change to both 1.34.1 and the "trunk" version. Note that
I applied the change manually in both cases, not with the "patch" program.
Compilation worked fine for 1.34.1 using just the usual "configure / make"
(again: this is an OpenSUSE 10.3 / gcc 4.2.1 system), so the fix seems to
cure the problem.
In the case of the trunk version, the result is
...failed updating 24 targets...
...updated 1502 targets...
Not all Boost libraries built properly.
So compilation mostly worked, but I would assume that the failed targets are
not related to the "-fno-strict-aliasing" problem, but rather a consequence
of this being a beta version.
In any case, I'm happy with 1.34.1 for now. Thanks for the help!
