Unfortunately, neither Volodya nor me have access to MacOS X. 
It would be nice if you could look up the necessary assembler flags for 
the different architectures. We could then improve assembler support for 
darwin. Or are they the same as the gcc flags and we're just missing the 
assembler overrides ?
