Yes, bjam is still compatible with Perfoce/Jam 2.4. But it does have
enough enhancements and differences to make it incompatible with
Perforce/Jam 2.5. And at the same time, we've talked about briefly
before about removing the Perforce Jambase as the built-in default
Jambase. Which I really want to do since it essentially gets zero
maintenance.
