[Boost-build] use-project

One can use use-project to give a project a virtual name, as in

use-project /foo/bar : path/to/project ;

However, it is my understanding that this also loads and processes the
Jamfile in that path/to/project. Is it possible to just give a project
a virtual name, so that later on a Jamfile can use that name to bring
it in if needed?
