I had tried in past to build boost with gcc AIX 5.3. Unfortunately
did not get very far with it. From what I recall, you still had to use
native compiler to do the linking step.
It's much easier to use to vacpp especially release v11.1
I have used the following boost libs on AIX:
test, system, data_and_time,filesystem, serialisation,
program_options, boost python,asio, spirit classic
with boost versions: 1.39,1.43,1.45
However in each of boost versions I had to make minors mod's
to the boost installation to get it to work.
