Would it be better if we made auto-index a 1st class citizen so that it
should always be available?

Several people are using auto-indexing of their docs (including me - and I'm
a big fan of it - in fact it think it should become the rule, not the
exception).

It isn't fully automatic - the author has to make some guesses about what
subjects the user will search for.

But I don't think that any automatically generated index will be useful
anyway - it will have too much 'chaff'.

Personally I don't feel we need a formal review, but others may wish for
this.
