It is a must for mingw.

I've talked with volodya on IRC and the following link seems to be the
starting point:

I verified that it work with gcc-4.2 on linux (cross-compiling for arm ;-))

The latter would be appropiate or we drop support for elder gccs. Not a wise
move, in my opinion.
I'm on vacation now, but hope to have time for a solution next week(s).
The main problem for me is to figure out how to support multiple link actions.
