The .i suffix is now reserved for a preprocessor output file per this thread and Steve's recent addition to support it:

So it may be good for you to use some other extension.

I asked a similar question a while ago. Please see There Vladimir suggested to 'cast' the types explicitly. I haven't got a chance to try that though. (I simply change the PREPROCESSED_C suffix from .i to .ii, as a hack.)

- Change my swig suffix to something more explicit (.swig_i)
- or can i disable PREPROCESSED_C.
