But doesn't my original solution presented to this mailing list solve the problem also by just creating the batch file in the build dir just like Steve is doing with cached configuration. This would immediately address the problem without requiring addition bjam support. If you would like, I can integrate it on top of your patch. And you could also add your nice ENVIRONMENT feature later ;).
