I want to test my program by running it on each of several files and
compare the output to a file with the expected result.  Has anyone done
anything like that?

I've used the rules in testing.jam to build test programs to test
functions, etc., but I want to test one program on a bunch of files
instead of creating and running a bunch of test programs.
