I was updating the CMake files for a while but I have hit some road
blocks that are being discussed in other threads on this mailing list.

The CMake build system should build at least the libraries with out
any issues. The regression tests get built but some are not passing
which is stopping the complete regression test suite from completing.
There is also a bug that prevents the unit test library from building
completely if you disable the building of static libraries. It was on
my list of things to fix..
