When you construct a boost::function from &HandleClass::handle, what
actually gets stored is boost::mem_fn(&HandleClass::handle). See
http://www.boost.org/libs/mem_fn/
Even
std::vector< boost::shared_ptr<HandleClass> > listOfHcs;
will work.
