As was pointed out by Christoph, in the dev list, it seems to be a 
manifestation of this GCC problem:

Bug 11953 - _REENTRANT defined when compiling non-threaded code.

So yes, adding "<define>BOOST_DISABLE_THREADS" is the way to do fix it 
if the interest is to use the single thread libraries. Of course if 
Patrik doesn't care about single threaded code he can just ignore the 
errors :-)
