just open C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 
8\Common7\Tools\vsvars32.bat in notepad.

in your project settings select Configuration Properties > C/++ > 
Preprocessor and append _SCL_SECURE_NO_DEPRECATE in Preprocessor 
Definitions box
