[Boost-users] [Ublas] Lack of arbitrary base

Hi,

Is there some reason that Ublas decided not to (consistently) allow
aribtrary index bases for its matrix types like multiarray and blitz++?
I can't quite figure it out, except for some measured (perceived?)
performance impact.
