On my computer running:
D:\> set BOOST_ROOT=D:\libraries\boost_1_33_1
D:\> set BOOST_BUILD_PATH=D:\libraries\boost_1_33_1\tools\build\v2
D:\>bjam -v

Note: Version 1 of bjam does not have a --version option, only version 2
