Surely its easier for people just to put in the extra line break or two
than to require receivers of boost mail to add filters to add them? And
it would put new arrivals on the list at a disadvantage.

I with Dave Abrahams on this one - I sometimes have great difficulty in
determining where replies start and end and it doesn't take much effort
from the replier to make it so much clearer. By all means put the
replies in line with the OP - just put a gap in so you can distinguish
the reply from the OP.
