Hi Paul

   I have tried this but yast does not find the package.
   Any idea on where else I will be able to get the necessary?

Hi Machiel,

Last time I used SUSE, I installed Boost easily using the YaST package 
management tool ( http://en.opensuse.org/YaST/Launch ). Make sure you 
just search for "Boost" rather than "libboost.thread" - Boost is 
distributed as one big collection of libraries.
