As the release note say, this is to match system conventions on Linux.
If you look at /usr/lib in any Linux system, you will find that no other
library uses Boost-like decoration style. For most folks, there's just
one compiler and one Boost and one variant.

I expect the current naming scheme and the set of default build variants
to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.
